"My mission as a midwife is to support women in trusting their intuition and provide them with the tools they need for a safe, healthy, and empowered journey from conception through postpartum. At the heart of my practice is a deep belief that birth is a natural process and that our innate wisdom can guide us through it safely and joyfully."

Philosophy

My deepest belief is that our bodies are infinitely wise, and that pregnancy and birth are a profoundly intuitive process that happen best when a mama feels safe, empowered, and embodied. The heart of my work is supporting mamas in creating an environment in their minds, bodies, and spirits, that allows birth to be embraced as an initiation and a rite of passage.

I have dedicated myself to learning the tactile and didactic skills of midwifery to ensure that I can support my mamas through the medical aspects of pregnancy, birth and postpartum safely. Simultaneously, I am committed to offering a holistic approach to pregnancy, birth and postpartum through the use of nutrition, herbalism, massage, and optimizing mama's lifestyle for a healthy Matrescence.

I am firmly committed to offering Informed Consent, and mother/family led care. I will always offer my clients information and options, and support them in making the choices that fuel the well-being and health of their family.

My work is a reflection of my unwavering belief that women’s health is sacred, and that every woman deserves to be healthy, safe, and embodied.

From a young age, I’ve always known that one day I would become a midwife. My passion for midwifery blossomed as a child when I read The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. The portrayal of midwifery in this book deeply resonated with me — a timeless and universal process in which women support women in birth, and through this journey, they are reborn. In 2022, the call to pursue midwifery became undeniable, and I moved to Prescott, Arizona, to pursue a mentorship with 3 experienced midwives who taught me the art of natural home birth. Meanwhile, I was completing my didactic studies with National College of Midwifery. Eager to expand my experience, I continued my training in El Paso at the renowned birth center, Maternidad La Luz, where I had the honor of serving families from Juarez as a primary midwife under supervision. During this time, I learned the bulk of my tactile skills, and had the experience of managing births of all kinds: the butter births and the 3 day marathons. I gained confidence and experience in learning to navigate the emergencies that can be a part of birth. In 2023, I joined a practice in Sedona, with a CNM, which further expanded my experience. Now, I am delighted to be serving my community here in Prescott, practicing out of the Midwives and Wellness collective. I am deeply honored to offer my services to families in Prescott, the Tri-Cities, the Verde Valley, and Sedona.

Kalila's Story

Born under the vast skies of New Mexico, I was raised among her painted mesas, piñon-covered hills, and willow-lined streams. Italian was my first language, English my second, and Spanish has since become the language of my heart. From a young age, I developed a fascination with making potions and remedies, and a deep love for the mystical and the sacred. This led me to explore women’s health and healing, beginning with my own transformative experience at 21 years old, when I naturally healed severe cervical dysplasia. This journey inspired me to pursue yoga teacher training, become a Rebirthing Breathwork practitioner, and explore herbalism as a community folk healer. My path also led me to study Chi Nei Tsang — an ancient form of abdominal massage passed down through the Daoist White Cloud monk lineage in China — under the guidance of Khun Ni, a master healer from Thailand. I have been practicing Chi Nei Tsang for the last seven years, integrating it into my holistic approach to women’s health and well-being.
